Three Questions I Love Asking the Cards

Tarot cards and books on a reading table

When someone tells me they do not know what to ask the tarot, I often suggest starting with something simple.

What do I need to understand about this situation?

This question leaves room for the reading to explore what is happening rather than asking the cards to give one fixed answer.

What am I not seeing clearly?

Sometimes we are so close to a situation that it is difficult to see it from another angle. A reading can give us something to reflect on and perhaps highlight something we had not considered.

What might help me move forward with more awareness?

I like this question because it keeps the choice with you. The cards are not being asked to decide your life for you. They are helping you explore what may be useful to consider.

The question opens the door

There are plenty of ways to approach a tarot reading, and there is no single perfect question.

Sometimes the most useful question is simply the one that helps you become curious about your own situation.

The cards can offer symbols, themes and possibilities to explore. What you do with that insight is still yours.
