At Mystic Monkey, we don’t see tarot as a crystal ball that tells you exactly what is going to happen. The future isn’t a fixed road with only one destination. Your choices, circumstances, relationships and actions can all change what comes next.
Tarot is a guidance system
Think of tarot as a guidance system. A reading can help you explore the patterns, possibilities and perspectives surrounding a situation right now. The cards may highlight something you hadn’t considered, reveal a pattern you keep repeating, or help you explore where a particular path could lead.
Possible futures, not guaranteed futures
Imagine you’re standing at a crossroads. One road may lead towards one outcome and another may lead somewhere completely different. The cards can help you look at those possibilities.
They can help you ask: What might happen if I continue on this path? What am I not seeing clearly? What could I consider before making this decision? What energy am I bringing into this situation?
But you are still the person holding the steering wheel.
The deck can be personal too
Louise works with many different tarot and oracle decks. Just before a reading, she often knows which deck, or combination of decks, feels relevant to the person and the situation. That is another part of what makes a Mystic Monkey reading personal.
The cards aren’t being used to announce one predetermined future. They help Louise explore your particular situation, the possibilities around it and the paths that may be opening in front of you.
Tarot is a conversation, not a verdict
A good reading should leave you with more awareness, not less control. You shouldn’t walk away thinking, “The cards said this will happen, so there’s nothing I can do.” Instead, you might walk away thinking, “I hadn’t looked at it that way before.”
Tarot can offer another perspective. It can help you slow down, reflect and explore possibilities that may otherwise be difficult to see when you are right in the middle of something.
