What Does Intuition Actually Feel Like?

Person writing thoughtfully in a journal

People often ask me how they are supposed to know when something is intuition.

Honestly, I think we sometimes make it harder than it needs to be.

Intuition can be quiet

For me, intuition is not always a dramatic feeling or a sudden moment of certainty. Sometimes it is simply a quiet sense that something feels right. Or that something feels slightly off.

Sometimes it is the thought that keeps returning, even when you are busy doing something else.

It is not always an answer

Intuition does not necessarily tell you exactly what to do. It can simply make you pause and pay attention.

That pause can be useful. It gives you a chance to notice what you are feeling before you rush into a decision.

Where tarot can help

Tarot can give that feeling something concrete to look at. A card can slow the process down and give you a different way of exploring what is already somewhere in your thoughts.

The card does not have to provide a definite answer. Sometimes the most useful part is noticing what you immediately think or feel when you see it.

Learning to listen

I think intuition becomes easier to recognise when we give ourselves enough quiet to notice it.

It may be a feeling, a thought, a hesitation or simply the sense that something deserves a second look.

You do not have to explain every feeling. Sometimes you can simply notice it and become curious about where it is coming from.
