When a Card Keeps Appearing
There are certain tarot cards that seem to find their way back to us.
Sometimes the same card appears in your own readings. Sometimes you notice the same card turning up again and again in different readings. When that happens, I do not see it as a fixed prediction. I see it as a reason to pause and look a little closer.
What is the card making you notice?
A card can bring your attention to something you may have been thinking about without quite putting it into words.
You might ask yourself: What does this card remind me of? What part of my situation does it reflect? Is there something here I have been avoiding or overlooking?
It does not mean the future is fixed
I do not believe a card appearing repeatedly means that one particular event is guaranteed to happen. Tarot is a guidance system, not a crystal ball.
The same card can mean something quite different depending on the person, the question and what is happening in their life at the time.
Sometimes the message changes
One of the things I enjoy about tarot is that a card can look completely different when you come back to it later. Your circumstances may have changed. Your question may have changed. You may have noticed something you could not see before.
That is why I prefer to explore the card rather than simply give it one fixed meaning.
Look a little closer
If the same card keeps appearing, perhaps the most useful question is not, “What is going to happen?”
It might simply be, “What am I being invited to notice?”
Sometimes that is where the interesting part of a reading begins.
